Before moving to Spruce Grove, I had no idea how massive the nature preserves and walking trails were, or that they are smack dab in the heart of the city. This town is a dog lover’s paradise, because many of the neighbourhoods have quick access to the trail system with mature trees and paved pathways. Now that many of us work from home, it’s so refreshing to be able to lace up your favourite runners and hit the trails for a brisk walk to break up your day.

Spruce Grove is definitely a commuter city being a suburb of Edmonton and it’s clear why. I’ve timed it, and from the far east side of Spruce Grove to the West End of Edmonton it’s only a 10 minute drive down Hwy. 16. I used to make this drive almost daily to work, and the funny thing is, it took me just as long to get to work from Spruce as it did to get there when I lived on the West End. Which leads me into my next reason:

TRAFFIC.

In the 7 years I’ve lived here, I’ve never been stuck wasting time in a traffic jam. I’ll never get back the hours of my life that I’ve been parked at a standstill somewhere in Edmonton!

Not only is the traffic a breeze, but living here is super convenient! You can literally get to anywhere in the city within 10 minutes, there are 5 grocery stores within a 5 km radius as well as many of the major retailers that you would find in Edmonton, so other than commuting for work your trips could be pretty limited.

Finally, the main reason to buy Real Estate in Spruce Grove is that you’re going to get more for your money, and who doesn’t want that? The average price of a Single Family home in Edmonton, is $458,000K whereas here in Spruce Grove, the average price is $418,000K which makes for over a $40,000 difference!
